From the moment the VE Commodore was released HPF carried out extensive dyno and track testing and where pioneer’s in the re-mapping of the VE Commodore ECU as well as being the first company in the World to run a 10 second pass in a VE commodore at the drag strip!
HPF has all the software and knowledge to custom tune your VE and when we reprogram we "flash" the factory computer chip, this does not involve any replacement of your ECU or disassembling your car to fit additional parts. Your ECU upgrade starts with your vehicle being run on the dyno while data is logged to determine the optimum tune using the latest efilive scanning software. With the use of our custom tuning software we are then able to adjust a variety of variables in the factory PCM to increase power and torque right through the rpm range. Better fuel economy and drivability is also attained by optimizing the tune. We complete the upgrade process by testing your vehicle on the road to make final adjustments, optimizing the Automatic transmission calibrations and improving shift quality and drivability. This is all completed in 1 day and at the end of this upgrade our Sales technician will provided you with a dyno graph detailing the Power & torque increase of your vehicle.
Below is an example of the kind of parameters we adjust during a custom tune:
Engine Parameters
- Fuel mixture through volumetric efficiency and power enrichment tables
- Review and adjust ignition timing tables
- Torque management settings
- Speed limiter parameters can be altered
- Thermo Fan temperature on/off thresholds adjusted
- Manage Knock retard settings
- Idle speed correction(Especially on engine fitted with Performance camshafts)
- DTC Code removal
- Speedo correction (if required due to diff gear upgrade)
Automatic Transmission Parameters
- Up-shift and down-shift points
- Shift firmness & speed parameters
- Shift pressures
- Torque converter lock-up parameters
- Torque management parameters
Reasons to Custom tune your Vehicle ECU
Simply looking for improved power, torque & economy?
Have you carried out engine modifications including capacity and camshaft changes?
Have you fitted a Supercharge or turbocharger kit to your vehicle?
Have you fitted Nitrous oxide to your Vehicle?
These above all great reasons to have your ECU re-mapped to protect your engine and maximize its reliability and performance.
2 Bar Mapping
HPF has become one of the leading VE commodore ECU tuning workshops in Australia with a number of firsts to our name including 2 bar mapping? For those not familiar with the E38/E67 as used in the VE Commodore, these ECM's have no VE Table, instead, the VE numbers are calculated on the fly from a set of VE coefficients, EFILive displays a 'Virtual VE Table' to allow tuners to alter VE numbers as though there was a real VE table, the software then converts the 'Virtual VE Table' in to VE coefficients. Does it work? Yes, very well. And we have many vehicle examples that have been tuned without a MAF, running 2bar forced induction and 'no' customized ECM operating system.
WARRANTY – HPF EXCLUSIVE LIFETIME WARRANTY
One of the most common queries we get in relation to performance tuning on new models is the potential effects on factory warranty. To that extent, Holden retains the right to refuse claims on warranty where the item being claimed on has been modified or changed from factory specification. However with thousands of ECU upgrades carried out to date Australia wide we are yet to have any vehicle custom tuned by one of our expert tuning technicians fail as a direct result of the custom tuning.
To give our customers piece of mind HPF offer a lifetime warranty on all our custom tunes for the life that vehicle is owned by the customer who purchased the custom tune from us. At HPF we spend countless hours on research and development of tuning your vehicle ECU and the associated effects of these changes on the rest of the vehicle and therefore warranty out tuning ability giving our customers complete piece of mind.
