LPG Government Grant |

The Federal Government provides grants to purchase an LPG vehicle or for converting a diesel or petrol vehicle to run on LPG.
The LPG Vehicle Scheme commenced on the 14 th of August 2006 and will continue until the 30 th of June 2014 (8years) and is administered by Aus Industry.
The Grants include the following:
- $2000 towards the cost of an LPG conversion of a new or used motor vehicle for non business use
- $1000 towards a factory fitted LPG vehicle for non-business use.
- To be eligible the vehicle must be for private use (not for commercial or business use) and:
- Any passenger or light commercial vehicle weighing less than 3.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Mass
- Must be registered in the state of residence of the claimant
- The vehicle must not be subject to a novated lease or salary sacrifice
- One conversion per person every three years
- You will need to pay for the conversion in full and then claim back the grant from either a Centrelink or Medicare office.
Applications can be submitted from 1 October 2006 and you will need a receipt for the installation or purchase showing a payment date of 14 Aug 2006 or later.
