Here’s an excellent result we got for a customer this week. The car is a 6.2l LS3 powered VE Maloo which came to us basically standard with the exception of a quality cat-back exhaust. The customer came asking for some big numbers which of course we were happy to provide!

The result was a very substantial 451rwkw with under 8psi boost from a combination of our Head and Cam power package and VE Twin Turbo package. With this carefully selected combination of parts including correctly sized turbos and HPF’s killer turbo cam you can make this kind of power reliably and without sacrificing day to day driveability. Check out the graph, there is more power and torque everywhere in the rev range which makes this thing a blast to drive!

Anybody who has attended a drag meet in Melbourne in 2010 would no doubt recognise Tim’s black VY SS Ute. Originally it was Tim’s daily driver and weekend drag toy, powered by a twin turbo LS1. It evolved in this configuration until Tim managed to run a 9.9 second pass, smashing the record for fastest un-opened LS1. This was undoubtedly the limit of the factory engine and to go any faster Tim would need to build an engine, HPF was happy to help. Keep Reading
