CRD-Flash tuning is THE state of the art way of improving both power and torque for your modern common rail diesel engine. By re-calibrating the factory engine computer unit (ECU) we are able to optimize the engine power and torque output as well as improve the vehicle’s fuel economy by as much as 10%*. Reprogramming the vehicle’s ECU has a number of advantages not at least is that we can retain all of the manufacturers inbuilt safety features as we are not tricking or going behind the ECU’s back. Additionally, reprogramming the ECU gives us the unparalleled ability to alter torque management tables, throttle mapping, boost pressure, fuel pressure & injector timing to name just a few… something no individual chip or module can come close to claiming. Real world average gains of around 20%* more power and 20%* more torque with no degradation to reliability or drivability shows that with CRD-Flash tuning technology you really can have your cake and eat it too!
The process typically takes a period of one day, where our specialist tuners set the vehicle up on our All Wheel Dyno for a baseline dyno run. The vehicle is then connected to our state of the art ECU reading and writing hardware. Our tuner then continues by adjusting the ECU parameters, all the time monitoring the progress on the dyno screen and via our ECU logging devices and EGT sensors.
After the tuning process each vehicle is returned to the customer along with a dyno graph showing the baseline dyno run and the final run, this graph will display the gains in both Power and Torque for comparison.

EVEREST 3.2L | STAGE 3 | 215KW
The Everest 3.2L Stage-3 upgrade starts with our trained technician setting your vehicle up on our 4WD dynamometer and performing a baseline dyno run. This allows us to firstly make sure everything is working A-OK and secondly it gives us standard figure from your car to compare to once the upgrade is completed. As the power and torque of the 3.2L engine falls off a cliff after 2900rpm we opt to fit up a GTurbo FR2-G300 NextGEN high flow Turbocharger. The Gturbo FR2-G300 turbocharger offers much increased air flow and additional reliability over the standard turbocharger it’s also a direct fit and requires no modifications to install. The fitment and tune of the FR2-G300 turbocharger vastly broadens the power and torque of the 3.2L engine aligning it with most modern 3L V6 turbo diesels. We compliment the turbo upgrade by fitting a Cross Country 4x4 front mount intercooler as the Ford Everest’s factory intercooler is both much smaller in size and frontal area compared to the Ford Ranger item. Cross Country has designed this Everest specific front mount upgrade intercooler kit especially for towing and we consider this as a mandatory addition if towing with your Everest. Next, we fit a Process West SEPR8R air oil separator to capture oil mist entering your engine's inlet manifold which can build up in your engine's intake.
We complete the package by custom tuning your vehicle's ECU on the dyno and Transmission Control Unit (TCU) in real time utilizing the latest tuning software to maximize power, torque and fuel efficiency. We test your vehicle on the road to make final adjustments, optimizing your vehicle's performance, driveability and transmission shift points. At the end of this upgrade, we will provide you with a dyno graph comparing the before and after power & torque increase the upgrade has made to your vehicle.
Catch Can – Process West, Diesel - Internal combustion engines like the engine in your 4WD will in normal use have some combustion pressure leak past its piston rings. This pressure if not released, will build up inside the engine’s crankcase leading to engine oil leaks and a negative effect on engine power. To control this pressure build-up, the manufacturer has installed a vent on the top cover of your engine that plumbs this pressure into the inlet of your turbocharger, however that pressure takes with it vapour that contains an engine oil mist.
The heart of the Process West SEPR8R system is a uniquely designed Catch Can with an internal filtration system that scrubs the oil mist before plumbing the vapour back into the turbocharger as per the OEM routeing. From the factory this 'air cleaning' doesn't take place, so the oil that comes out of the top engine cover ends up lining the insides of your intercooler and inlet system resulting in both reduced performance and economy over time.
Manufactured from Billet Aluminium with removable lid and filtration assembly of 650ml capacity, the ‘Sepr8r’ features an over pressure relief valve incorporated to prevent system malfunction in the case of blockage. It also features a drain port incorporated into main housing with optional drain valve available. The filter features a unique metal matrix filtration system that is anti-clog and also washable/reusable with low restriction filtering. The laser cut bracket and moulded temperature resistance houses are shaped for the engine bay of each vehicle. Process West was established in 2003 and run out of a purpose-built facility in Berkeley, NSW.
Diesel Tuning - For the most part, diesel 4×4’s are bought and employed to do a job, it may be towing, regularly carting heavy loads or used as daily transport with the odd trip off-road. Whatever is it, chances are that the vehicle may struggle to do that job in one area or another, maybe the vehicle struggles to pull the van or it uses too much fuel or it has annoying flat spots or a delay in the throttle response, no car is perfect. But by reprogramming the vehicles factory ECU, we can iron out those flat spots, increase the vehicle’s torque output and increase the general enjoyment of driving your diesel to get your car closer to perfect and help it to do the job you originally employed it to do.
Safety First - We at HPF have a set of tuning guidelines in place that ensures we do not exceed predetermined SAFE air / fuel ratio & boost level parameters; in some cases, the air / fuel ratio is the same as standard. This guideline is in place to provide you with the safest and most reliable result and instead of chasing a maximum power figure, we tune your engine to these SAFE parameters and the increased power is a result of that. As each car is individually tuned on the dyno, the final outcome has been scrutinized and road tested prior to being returned to the customer.
TCU, Transmission recalibration - Late model AT (Automatic Transmissions) are all computer controlled via a Transmission Control Unit (TCU), some TCUs are built in to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module), while others are separate computers. By optimizing the AT shift points and line pressures we are able to match the AT’s shift strategies with the engines new powerband. This can transform the way the car drives and for many models it’s a mandatory requirement when parts like superchargers, large turbochargers, camshaft upgrades, high stall torque converters, etc, are Installed. TCU tuning can also assist when larger tyres and or alternate diff gear ratios are fitted.
Intercooler, Diesel – Basically, the intercooler’s purpose is to remove the heat made by the turbocharger when it compresses the intake air to make boost. Cool, dense air is the best for performance and the engine’s ECU monitors the boosted air temperature via a sensor positioned after the intercooler, the ECU then alters engine power based on that temperature signal in order to maintain safe and reliable operation. Sustained hard driving like towing or four-wheel driving where the turbo is constantly working, will result in the intercooler reaching a state of ‘Heat Soak’, meaning it cannot pull any more heat out of the boosted air. Heat soaking of the intercooler will result in the engines ECU lowering the power output of the engine when the power is needed the most.
The Cross-Country intercooler kit uses a PWR race series intercooler core measuring in at 660x300x68 with Cross Country’s sheet metal tanks and A class welding. The kit includes pipework and sheet metal ducting so the engine fan will draw air efficiently through the intercooler radiator and condenser. This helps see an increase in power by way of a decrease in intake temp which in turns helps the EGT’s. Cross Country intercoolers are made in Edwardstown South Australia and they use world renowned PWR intercoolers whom supply teams such as F1, NASCAR, V8 Supercars, DTM, WRC and Moto GP. PWR are based in Ormeau, QLD.
Gturbo Turbochargers – Since 2012, GTurbo have been constantly innovating, designing and testing to deliver their customers unrivalled vehicle performance with every upgrade. GTurbo is now one of Australia’s leading manufacturers in high performance diesel turbos. Based in Balcatta, WA Gturbo turbochargers are manufactured in-house by an expert team of engineers. The FR2-G300 NextGEN Gold turbo for the 3.2L Ranger, Everest and BT50 provides ample towing grunt, with power that extends to 4000rpm! It’s designed for 34psi and can be operated efficiently via ECU control from 16 – 37psi. 1-Year Warranty included.

JEEP TRACKHAWK 6.2L HPF STAGE 4 | 750KW
If you’re looking for the next stage in performance and a sound that will scare old ladies, HPF has the cam upgrade package for your ‘Hawk. The HPF Trackhawk Stage-4 upgrade starts with our trained technician setting your vehicle up on our 4WD dynamometer and performing a baseline dyno run. This allows us to firstly make sure everything is working A-OK and secondly it gives us a standard figure from your car to compare to once the upgrade is completed. We continue by removing the engine from the vehicle, setting it up on our custom-made jig and disassembling it to replace the factory camshaft with a high-performance custom camshaft and a phaser limiter kit from Brian Tooley Racing. Brian Tooley Racing (BTR) in Kentucky, USA lead the way in valvetrain component design as these new BTR lobe designs were Spintron and Engine Dyno tested to achieve the highest overall power curve while also maintaining strict valvetrain stability and durability standards. HPF is not shy in leveraging BTR’s extensive testing and as such, our product list for the Hemi cam packages includes BTR’s camshafts, valve springs and Phaser limiter / lock. We then replace the factory hydraulic lifters with premium Johnson high performance lifters which feature a redesigned oil pathway to lubricate and pressurize the lifter. Next, we fit upgraded valve springs to the cylinder heads and we reassemble the engine with new heavy-duty pushrods, head gaskets, an ATI Super Damper 10% overdrive balancer and Optitorque head studs. While the engine is out and, on the jig, we install the 2.85” high boost GripTec® pulley, 160-degree thermostat, 1500cc Excess fuel injectors & KPM 1500HP fuel system, a set of Pacemaker 2” primary 4-1 headers (extractors), ported OEM throttle and Brisk Spark plugs. Once the engine is reinstalled, we install a high flow K&N Cold air intake and bolt the Pacemaker dual 3” cat-back exhaust system and high flow metallic catalytic converters to the headers. We then custom tune your vehicle's ECU on the dyno utilizing the latest ECU tuning software to maximize power and fuel efficiency. We complete the upgrade process by testing your vehicle on the road to make final adjustments, optimizing your vehicle's performance and driveability. This is all completed in around 4-5 days and at the end of this upgrade you will be provided with a dyno graph detailing the power & torque increase of your vehicle. Flex Fuel (E85) is an option, talk to one of our Sales Representatives.
Cold air intake - The K&N Air Induction (CAI) system features A high-density polyethylene (HDPE) rotationally-molded tube helps increase the volume of airflow to your engine, and provides a guaranteed increase in horsepower and torque. These systems are paired with a washable, reusable High-Flow Air Filter™ featuring oiled cotton filter media. The oversized, conical design allows you to go up to 100,000 miles between filter services under normal highway driving conditions. A custom heat shield helps protect intake air from the high temperature of your engine bay.
Thermostat - HPF offers this premium quality 160-degree thermostat for Hemi Applications. This is a direct drop in with no modifications needed and includes the rubber seal. Reducing engine coolant temperature will help produce more horsepower and improve performance and driveability. The thermostat is an easy to install component and requires no mechanical modifications.
Supercharger pulley - The high boost supercharger pulley includes the ZPE Pulley Hub system for the factory supercharged 6.2 Hemi. The Pulley is made from billet 7075-T6 aerospace grade aluminium, stronger and harder than 6061 T6. This pulley is equipped with GripTec® - a unique micro machining technology. This technology allows the maximum grip force to be applied to the component and belt without damaging your belt. Made in California, USA.
Catback Exhaust system – A ‘Catback’ system is basically all the parts of the exhaust after the catalytic converters. It’s the section of exhaust where all the mufflers are placed and by using larger diameter pipe and high flowing mufflers more performance and better sound is achieved. HPF chooses Pacemaker Exhausts for the Jeep SRT & Trackhawk platform. Made in Richmond, South Australia for almost half a century, Pacemaker are synonymous with performance and quality. Pacemaker build a quality stainless steel dual 3” system and some model specific quad-phat-tips for the ‘Hawk. The sound is deep and meaningful.
Headers & High flow cats – Also known as extractors, we chose a 4-1 design as over the years 4-1 headers have proven their performance advantage over the tri-y design. 4-1 Headers are offered in a few different sizes for different engine applications or modification levels. The catalytic converters chosen are higher flow and feature 100 cpi (cell per inch) for Trackhawk. The catalyst matrix is coated metal so they are built to last. Given the performance the Trackhawk’s Hemi V8 is capable of producing, we choose Pacemakers 2” primary sized, 4-1 headers matched to Pacemakers 3” high flow cats. The catback exhaust bolts to the catalytic converters. Ceramic coating of the headers is optional, talk to one of our sales representatives.
Fuel injectors - HPF only uses premium fuel injectors from Excess Fuel Injectors for the Hemi platform. All Excess Injectors are tested on a custom-built test bench to J1832 standards under strict testing protocol in a purpose-built facility in Melbourne’s South Eastern Suburbs. Every injector set is dynamically flow matched within 1% and deadtime matched within 2%, this minimises time tuning injectors and allows us to get a perfect result every time. We choose extra-large 1500cc to enable the change to E85 or the next level in performance without having to buy another set of injectors and the beauty of the Excess injector data is that our calibrators are able to get the car to still drive perfectly. These injectors come with a Lifetime Guarantee – ask for more info.
Harmonic balancer – In the quest for more boost pressure we chose to add a premium ATI ‘Super Damper’ over-drive harmonic balancer as opposed to a smaller S/C pulley as this minimizes the chance of belt slip. The overdrive segment of the new harmonic balancer does not affect the non-supercharger related accessories run by the OEM drive belt. The ATI Super Damper comes in a 10% over-drive ratio for an additional 3-psi of boost and is pinned to the crank by our technicians to ensure it does not slip. ATI Super Dampers are OEM fitment on Mopar Hemi 392 crate motors and they provide balanced dampening of torsional crankshaft vibrations through all RPM ranges and exceed SFI 18.1 Safety Certification for competition use. ATI is based in Maryland, USA.
Cam package (Hemi 6.2) – If you’re looking for a cam upgrade that sounds like a CAM UPGRADE then HPF has the package for you! Utilizing the latest in Spintron technology, Brian Tooley Racing (BTR) in Kentucky, USA lead the way in valvetrain component design. The Spintron machine allows BTR to effectively test and design camshaft and valvetrain products to ensure stability and longevity like no other device. HPF is not shy in leveraging BTR’s extensive testing and as such, our product list for the Trackhawk cam package includes BTR’s camshafts, Platinum conical valve springs and a BTR camshaft phaser limiter / lock system. Supporting the BTR components, we use high performance USA Made Johnson #2326 hydraulic lifters. The 2326 oil band is different because of the change in how the internals are provided oil. Factory lifters are supplied oil via the pushrod, whereas the Johnson 2326 are oiled by the oil gallery like a typical lifter – a true solution for the Hemi Tick. We finish the engine off with a set of HD Crow Cams pushrods.
Dyno Tuning – By optimizing the engine tune parameters in the vehicles PCM to suit 98 octane fuel, we are able to increase both power and torque and maximise fuel economy. Late model naturally aspirated cars are generally tuned very well from the manufacturer so depending on the vehicle platform mechanical parts to improve the engines intake & exhaust flow may need to be added to really get good gains. Engines fitted with a turbocharger from factory are much easier to enhance as increasing boost pressure by tuning works extremely well. Flex Fuel (E85) is an option, talk to one of our Sales Representatives.

- Catback Exhaust system – A ‘Catback’ system is basically all the parts of the exhaust after the catalytic converters. It’s the section of exhaust where all the mufflers are placed and by using larger diameter pipe and high flowing mufflers more performance and better sound is achieved. HPF chooses Pacemaker Exhausts for the RAM TRX platform. Made in Richmond, South Australia for almost half a century, Pacemaker are synonymous with performance and quality. Pacemaker build a quality stainless steel dual 3” system and some model specific 5” phat-tips for the TRX. The sound is deep and meaningful.
- Headers & High flow cats – Also known as extractors, we chose a 4-1 design as over the years 4-1 headers have proven their performance advantage over the tri-y design. 4-1 Headers are offered in a few different sizes for different engine applications or modification levels. The catalytic converters chosen are higher flow and feature 100 cpi (cell per inch) for TRX. The catalyst matrix is coated metal so they are built to last. Given the performance the TRX’s Hemi V8 is capable of producing, we choose Pacemakers 1-7/8”” primary sized, 4-1 headers matched to Pacemakers 3” high flow cats. The catback exhaust bolts to the catalytic converters. Ceramic coating is optional, talk to one of our sales representatives.
- Fuel injectors - HPF only uses premium fuel injectors from Excess Fuel Injectors for the Hemi platform.
- Harmonic balancer – In the quest for more boost pressure we chose to add a premium ATI ‘Super Damper’ over-drive harmonic balancer as opposed to a smaller S/C pulley as this minimizes the chance of belt slip.
- Dyno Tuning – By optimizing the engine tune parameters in the vehicles PCM to suit 98 octane fuel, we are able to increase both power and torque and maximise fuel economy.

NISSAN PATROL Y61 3.0L | STAGE 4 | 230KW
The Patrol Y61 3.0L Stage-4 is truly the ultimate ZD30 package for serious enthusiasts looking for maximum performance. The upgrade begins with our trained technician setting your vehicle up on our 4WD dynamometer and performing a baseline dyno run. This allows us to ensure that everything is working A-OK and provides a standard figure from your car to compare to once the upgrade is completed.
We then commence the upgrades by fitting Gturbo 100% high-flow fuel injectors to increase the fuel supply and meet the additional power gains, along with a new high-flowing Gturbo turbocharger to replace the small factory turbo. Next, a Process West SEPR8R air-oil separator is installed to capture oil mist entering your engine's inlet manifold, which can build up in your engine's intake and cause carbon buildup, potentially reducing the engine's reliability and performance over time.
We then install a new Cross Country 4x4 Ultimate intercooler to replace the small, prone-to-leak standard intercooler. These top-mount intercoolers make a significant difference, especially if towing or four-wheeling. Next, we fit a Tillix 3" Turbo Inlet pipe and an HPD 3" Intake pipe, along with a Pacemaker King Brown turbo-back exhaust system; this combination removes restrictions and allows the turbo to spool up more easily. We also install an HPD VNT wastegate controller to manage the turbocharger's boost control and improve boost stability.
We complete the package by custom tuning your vehicle's ECU on the dyno in real time, utilizing the latest ECU tuning software to maximize power, torque, and fuel efficiency. We also test your vehicle on the road to make final adjustments, optimizing its performance and driveability. At the end of this upgrade, we will provide you with a dyno graph comparing the before and after power and torque increases achieved by the upgrade.
Like all of our upgrade packages, the Stage-4 package is modular, allowing the customer to add to the package and minimizing the need to spend money twice when further upgrades are desired. We always strive to bring you maximum performance with high-quality components while maintaining reliability and driveability.
The heart of the Process West SEPR8R system is a uniquely designed Catch Can with an internal filtration system that scrubs the oil mist before plumbing the vapour back into the turbocharger. From the factory this 'air cleaning' doesn't take place, so the oil that comes out of the top engine cover ends up lining the insides of your intercooler and inlet system resulting in both reduced performance and economy over time.
- Manufactured from Billet Aluminium with removable lid and filtration assembly of 650ml capacity
- Over Pressure relief valve incorporated to prevent system malfunction in the case of blockage
- Drain port incorporated into main housing with optional drain valve available

Intercooler, Diesel – Basically, the intercooler’s purpose is to remove the heat made by the turbocharger when it compresses the intake air to make boost. Cool, dense air is the best for performance and the engine’s ECU monitors the boosted air temperature via a sensor positioned after the intercooler, the ECU then alters engine power based on that temperature signal in order to maintain safe and reliable operation. Sustained hard driving like towing or four-wheel driving where the turbo is constantly working, will result in the standard intercooler reaching a state of ‘Heat Soak’, meaning it cannot pull any more heat out of the boosted air. Heat soaking of the intercooler will result in the engines ECU lowering the power output of the engine when the power is needed the most.
The Cross-Country intercooler starts with the latest light-weight tube and fin PWR Race Series core which monsters the size of the standard intercooler with measurements of 1050 × 859 × 200mm. The huge intercooler is supported by a new full width and sharp looking bonnet scoop and a thermo-fan mounted underneath the cooler to pull air through at low speeds. This is coupled with CNC folded tanks that have been the culmination of years of motorsport fabrication experience, then refined even further using computer flow simulation. This ensures the tanks are highly efficient and provide high, even, unrestricted flow to the whole area of the core with no swirl pockets or restrictions. From our testing, the Cross Country is hands down the best and most efficient Intercooler for the Y61 Patrol platform. Cross Country intercoolers are made in Edwardstown South Australia and they use world renowned PWR intercoolers whom supply teams such as F1, NASCAR, V8 Supercars, DTM, WRC and Moto GP. PWR are based in Ormeau, QLD.
Turbo-back Exhaust system – A ‘Turbo back’ exhaust system is as the name suggests from the engines turbocharger, back. A good turbo diesel exhaust system features a well-designed 3” ‘dump pipe’ at the back of the turbocharger to promote turbocharger boost response - which in turn improves engine response. It then features a high-quality catalytic converter to keep the smell and law enforcement away and an adequate pipe size to provide unrestricted gas flow. After that, muffler design is largely a personal preference so we can provide a number of muffler options. HPF chooses Pacemaker Exhausts for most of our 4WD diesel platforms. Made in Richmond, South Australia for almost half a century, Pacemaker are synonymous with performance and quality.
Gturbo Turbochargers – Since 2012, GTurbo have been constantly innovating, designing and testing to deliver their customers unrivalled vehicle performance with every upgrade. GTurbo is now one of Australia’s leading manufacturers in high performance turbochargers for diesel engines. Based in Balcatta, WA Gturbo turbochargers are manufactured in-house by an expert team of engineers and their turbos are designed and built in Australia for Australian conditions. HPF have unashamedly leveraged Gturbos unparalleled diesel turbocharger development and we offer two different turbochargers for the ZD30 to suit auto or manual. For manual’s, we typically use the G260-ZD NextGEN turbocharger as it provides towing power, with superior low rpm grunt and efficiency compared to the original turbocharger. For automatic equipped cars we run the larger G300-ZD NextGEN as the automatic transmission’s torque converter helps in getting the engine up and into the turbochargers sweet spot nice and quickly.
High flow Injector Nozzles – Performance upgrades for just about any engine is about removing restrictions and allowing the engine the breath in more air, however at some point the fuel system runs out of the ability to keep up. In most common rail diesels, the limitation in the fuel system is the actual fuel injector nozzle. Each nozzle has a number of holes that the fuel flows through into the combustion chamber and the size of these holes will ultimately dictate how much power the engine can make. Enter the high flow injector nozzle. We again leverage GTurbo’s extensive diesel experience and option to install their range of high flow nozzles. The nozzles are available in sizes much larger than the standard items however the extra fuel is only commanded when required, meaning that larger nozzles will not affect economy or effect the way the engine runs in regular use.

Catback Exhaust system – A ‘Catback’ system is basically all the parts of the exhaust after the catalytic converters. It’s the section of exhaust where all the mufflers are placed and by using larger diameter pipe and high flowing mufflers more performance and better sound is achieved. HPF works closely with our 2 major exhaust suppliers Pacemaker and Manta. The advantage we find of having two suppliers is we remain flexible in terms of price, availability and product selection. Pacemaker offers a 5-year warranty and are built in Richmond, South Australia while Manta offers a 10-year warranty and has manufacturing in both Belmont, Western Australia and Melton, Victoria.
Headers & High flow cats – Also known as extractors, we chose a 4-1 design as over the years 4-1 headers have proven their advantage over the tri-y design. 4-1 Headers are offered in a few different sizes for different engine applications or modification levels. The catalytic converters chosen are higher flow and feature either 100 cpi or 200 cpi (cell per inch). The catalyst matrix is coated metal so they are built to last. The catback exhaust bolts to the catalytic converters.
