The Walkinshaw Performance Long Range Fuel Tank for the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and ZR2 is a fully engineered replacement system that lifts capacity from the standard 91 litres to a massive 188 litres, without compromising OEM-like integration or durability.

Engineering-led design

Walkinshaw’s tank is a complete replacement unit, not a simple add-on or auxiliary cell, so it occupies the original location and uses the standard factory filling point for seamless day-to-day use. The OE sender unit is retained, meaning fuel levels continue to display correctly on the factory gauge and the driver experience remains exactly as Chevrolet intended, just with far greater range.

OEM-style validation and reliability

Unlike many generic long-range offerings, this tank has been developed within Walkinshaw’s established engineering program for the Silverado platform, aligning with OEM-style expectations for fitment, function, and long-term reliability. The design is validated as a system with key Walkinshaw upgrades, including the 5th Wheel Mounting Kit, cat-back exhaust, Fury Packs 1 & 2, and GVM package, so customers can run a complete Walkinshaw package with confidence.

Impact and corrosion defence

To handle harsh on- and off-road use, the tank incorporates a strengthened lower plate that improves resistance to stone strikes and underbody impacts compared with typical aftermarket solutions. Corrosion defence goes beyond basic coatings, with black zinc–nickel–coated mounting straps specified to provide enhanced protection in coastal, outback, and high-moisture environments over the long term.

Fitment and compatibility

The upper surface of the tank is carefully profiled to maintain clearance for the Walkinshaw 5th Wheel Mounting Kit, ensuring towing and touring customers do not face packaging compromises. It is also designed to be compatible with the Walkinshaw cat-back exhaust and associated Silverado 1500 performance packs, and is supplied as a complete kit with all required hardware, hoses, straps, and a Walkinshaw shield–stamped panel, fitted by Walkinshaw-trained technicians.
